Planning the Perfect Beach Wedding
Many brides want to have a beach wedding, there?s just something very special about the idea of getting married on a beach. However planning a beach wedding can be a bit of a challenge because there is nothing else like a beach!
Mother Nature
The most difficult thing to predict at your beach wedding will be the weather. There are many things that are out of your control when you are having your wedding on a beach in the open air rather than indoors. You need to carefully consider these. The weather is the biggest one of these problems, try to get past weather reports so that you can see what it is normally like during that season, is it always dry or does it rain a lot? If you?re getting married on the east coast then you should defiantly avoid the hurricane season! You should also have some contingency plan just in case it does pour it down!
The second thing which could ruin your day are the tides. If you have your wedding and the tide starts to come in it could cut your wedding short. Your guests would not really like to be up to their ankles in sea water! It?s a good idea to discuss this with your wedding planner, try to choose an area which is either not affected by the tides or won?t make much difference. You could also plan the wedding as the tide is going out so that you have as much time as possible.
Another problem can be insects, the most annoying problem are mosquitoes. You should plan to have something to get rid of these pests. Then you need to think about the time of your wedding, some beaches may be better at certain times.
Guests
Beach weddings are without a doubt very beautiful however your guests may find it very difficult. If you are inviting anyone with a wheelchair then this person might find it impossible. Few beaches have disabled access. You should also think about the amenities that are available at your chosen beach, you don?t need much but you do defiantly need bathrooms. Check that these bathrooms will be open when your wedding is on, try to make special arrangements if not.
The type of the bathroom might be important to consider. Most bathrooms at the beach are just an outhouse rather than a proper toilet. Nobody would want to go into these with wedding clothes on, if they did it would be a disaster! Then you should make sure you know that the public on the beach may just decide to invite themselves to your wedding. If you have a problem with this then you would want to look at private beaches.
Uniquely Beach
A beach wedding is completely unique, there?s just nothing like it. Engagement or vow poems can make the event even more unique. Lots of couples dress casually for their beach wedding, just simple clothes will probably be enough. Hawaiian shirts and sundresses are very popular clothes for beach weddings.
