When considering a candidate, interviewers focus on many things from the candidate’s personal appearance to their choice of attire and manners. Personal appearance is not just concerned with beauty but hygiene and neatness are equally important. Employers will choose those candidates who are best able to positively promote their company. This is something of which you should be aware especially at the time of the interview. Whenever you are attending an interview you should ensure that you are dressed properly, preferably in a suit and that your hair is appropriately groomed. There are certain other considerations that are mandatory when preparing for a job interview:

* Research the company: This is most important. You may use various search engines on the internet to obtain details about the company, focusing especially on the following: - Company history, products, when it was established - Company’s growth, its reach and branches across the world or nation - Current news about the company, or any significant events within the company - Whether the company management team is global or national, company mission statement, its position in world rank and niche in market.

* Research the actual position for which you are applying: Carefully study the job description using contacts you have. The company website may be helpful here: - what exactly will be your role and what will be your position in company - any comments on the job from past employees - any changes to the position that have been made

* Practice the possible questions about yourself: Think professionally and carefully study your resume. Make a comprehensive record of all information concerning your educational achievements and qualifications. You should practice answers to the commonly asked questions until you know them by heart.

* Be responsive: Practice these questions by yourself aloud until you feel confident in answering them. Try to be specific when you are answering and present supportive examples that will satisfy the interviewer. Be positive and speak honestly, but at the same time avoid mentioning past mistakes.

*Clothing for the interview: Your first impression is critical, so take care with your choice of clothing and hairstyle. Avoid overpowering perfume and heavy make up with jewellery. Try to look professional.

* Be ready with questions for the interviewer: In most of the interviews you will be given a chance to ask questions. You should prepare at least one question. Ask logical questions. Your choice of questions will reveal your inquisitive nature as well as your interest in the company.

* What NOT to ask in interview: While preparing for a job interview you should be aware of the things you should not discuss with the interviewer. Never directly ask about salary and benefits. You will be informed about these concerns if the company shows an interest in employing you.
