Collecting Wooden Dollhouses
Dollhouses have been around for thousands of years and date back to the Egyptian tombs from about 5,000 years ago. Many of these wooden miniatures of people, animals, and household items depicted life as it was at the time. It comes as no surprise that collecting objects with meaning and represent a way of life will always be part of a culture.In the 16th and 17th centuries collecting miniatures was not limited to just women, as many monarchs, scholars and wealthy merchants owned large cabinets that displayed artifacts from history.
