All about wine making kits
For most people, the thought of creating your own wine seems impossible. Most people believe this is true because they feel you would need acreage of vineyards and barrel after barrel of fermenting grapes. This however is not the case, especially when a wine making kit is involved. A lot of you are probably thinking right now, “You mean to tell me there is a kit where I can make my own bottle of wine?”, the short answer being,
No matter your taste preference’s of white, red, sweet, or bitter wine, there is a wine making kit specifically for you. Some wine makers prefer to get the starter kit every time and over the course of a year or two eventually build up enough supplies to where they would feasibly make a hundred bottles or more easily.
However, some people prefer to be able to just get the grapes and the instructions for growing cycle and fermenting length then leave it at that. And honestly for as little as $1.00 a bottle who could blame them. The only downside that is foreseeable when purchasing a wine making kit that contains grapes and instructions only is the lack of other needed supplies. Thing’s such as buckets, siphons, acidity tester etc. are needed if you wish to prepare a great first bottle of wine. However, some people may have most of theses item’s laying around the house and those that do not, the supplies are easily and readily available from most local hardware stores.
Most starter kits include but are not limited to: Fermenter with lid, five gallon glass carboy, drilled rubber stoppers, siphon tubing, auto siphon, bottle filler, sample test jar, hydrometer, 24inch plastic spoon, wine thief (which is for samples), cleaner and sanitizer, corks, and probably the most important piece you will receive with your kit are the instructions.
For anywhere between $90.00-130.00 you would receive all the necessary supplies you would need to successfully make approximately thirty bottles of wine. Now if you take into consideration of spending between $10-20 on average for a cheaper bottle of wine, your already saving a bundle. The cost for that much wine in itself is $300-600, and for 1/3 of the cost, you will know exactly where everything has come from and exactly how it was made.
